it's difficult to point out the exact meaning of the different symbols the peculiar circle in Celtic crosses. It could be a Pagan moon or sun.  For the Irish, the circle is also a symbol of God's never ending love, or a halo  manating from Christ.  Whatever the significance or meaning, Celtic crosses have played an important role in Celtic art and history and continue to inspire modern jewelers and artists.
